Greek
Ethnicity in the United States: Towards a Mosaic Society.
The last U.S. census (1990) and the end
of the century provided us with the opportunity to examine the
current status as well as to speculate about the future of the
Greek presence and experience in the United States. Particular
emphasis was placed on the "fourth" generation of
Greek-Amricans and the vacillation between a personal search
for belongness, the search for roots, and the advantages of
ethnic identification. By Dr. Evan Vlachos, Professor
of Scoiology, Colorado State University. |
